      Mary Ann Welty

                  2/25/1936 - 3/16/2005

Mary Ann Welty, 69, of Bevil Oaks passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2005. Mary Ann was born February 25, 1936 and was a lifelong resident of Beaumont. She lived in the Bevil Oaks neighborhood for 35 years.

She graduated from South Park High School in 1954 and was a very proud “Greenie” and was heavily involved in class functions and projects and cherished her lifelong friendships. In her early years, she was active in the Phi Beta Sigma sorority and the Melody Maids. Mary Ann retired from the office of Dr. D.D. Moore in the late eighties and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son, Timothy Welty, daughters; Carrie Lynn Teague and her husband Randy, Carla “Corky” Welty, Cheryl Saunders and her husband Paul, and daughter-in-law Lynne Welty. Eight grandchildren, Natalie Poland, Austin Stringer, Jordan Stringer, Sabra Welty, Cody Welty, Bucky Welty, Lace Mayea, Dillon Mayea and one great grandchild, Camden Richardson.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2005 at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive; Beaumont followed by burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
