Gusher Going Again.........by Ronnie Berwick

After a long absence, this writer will try to get the Gusher going again.  I’ll try it on the “net” first.  If there is enough call for it, I will try to get some printed for those who are not on the “net” yet.

It’s time for another reunion.  This will be our 50th Year anniversary reunion.  Who would’a thunk it.   A few of our classmates began discussing this at a L.J. Breaux’s latest bash.  We had Crawfish, BarBQ and a lot of goodies.  A good time was had by all.

Grace and I had the pleasure of attending the Class of ’53 Fifty Year reunion recently.  Some of the friends there were Lee Byrd, Don Boyd, Roger Gallier, “Soda Water” Runnells, Jimmy Stearns, Beth “Betty” Tiner, Jimmy Ann Watwood, Jesse Rogers,  “Pop” Ward, Charles “Bubba” Graham, Ronnie Davis, Odom Bailleaux, Ann Boudreaux Mitchell (she ramrodded the event very well indeed), Bobby and Sandy Harville and many others (At my age, I can’t be expected to remember all of them.)  Of course, Ginger Davis Dishman was there, too.

The ’53 reunion was held at Munro’s on MLK (Mariposa).  It was nice except for the sun in your eyes and the bugs after the lights were turned on.

Since, my sister, Mary Nita Wing was in the Class of ’52, Grace and I also attended their Fiftieth last summer.  Their reunion was held at the Downtown Holiday Inn (that’s on 11th Street ).  It was also a fun reunion.  Some of those in attendance were John Morrison, Leonard Villalon, Wally and Joy Curry, Donna Saxe, Don Viguet, Teddy and Mary Lou Walker and many more.  Jan McManus LeBlanc was the ramrod at this reunion and she did an excellent job. (This oldtimers’ disease prevents my naming any more).

I’m really looking forward to our reunion. It’s always a lot of fun.  Let’s face it, when Greenies get together, it’s always fun.

In order to get the Gusher rolling again, I need information from you classmates.  Let me know what you’re doing or what you plan to do, even what you wish to do but can’t.  We’ll start out just on the Web Site.  If you know of a classmate who is not on the “net”, print a copy for them and send me their name and address.  If there are enough requests, I’ll try to print some copies.  The printer I was using in Houston is filing for bankruptcy, so I can’t get the special rate I was getting before.
